In these Terms and Conditions, “RationBox”, “we”, “us” and “the Seller” refer to SAS RATIONBOX.

1.2 Scope

These Terms and Conditions govern purchases made through RationBox.eu by consumers.

A Consumer is a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.

By placing an order, the Customer confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

Professional customers, resellers, organisations and public bodies may be subject to separate business-to-business terms.

1.3 Products

RationBox sells freeze-dried food, dehydrated food, emergency food supplies, long-life food products, drinks and related preparedness products.

The principal characteristics of each Product are presented on its product page. Photographs and illustrations are provided for information purposes. Packaging, labelling or presentation may occasionally vary without affecting the essential characteristics of the Product.

Customers must review the Product description, ingredient list, allergens, preparation instructions and storage requirements before purchasing or consuming a Product.

1.4 Ingredients and allergens

Ingredient, allergen and nutritional information is displayed on the Product page or Product packaging.

Products may contain or may have been manufactured in facilities handling allergens, including cereals containing gluten, milk, eggs, soya, nuts, peanuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin, fish, crustaceans and molluscs.

Customers with allergies, intolerances, medical conditions or specific dietary requirements are responsible for checking all Product information before consumption.

Where website information differs from the mandatory information printed on the supplied packaging, the information on the packaging takes priority.

1.5 Shelf life and storage

Any stated shelf life applies only when the Product:

  • remains unopened;

  • is stored in accordance with the instructions on its packaging;

  • is protected from excessive heat, moisture and direct sunlight; and

  • has not been punctured, damaged or otherwise compromised.

A statement such as “up to 25 years” is subject to the applicable storage conditions. It does not guarantee that the Product will remain suitable when incorrectly stored or after opening.

Customers must not consume Products where the packaging is swollen, leaking, punctured, severely damaged or otherwise appears compromised.

1.6 Availability

All Products and offers are subject to availability.

Adding a Product to the shopping basket does not reserve it. A Product is reserved only after the order has been accepted and payment has been authorised.

When a Product becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, RationBox may:

  • offer a replacement, subject to the Customer’s agreement;

  • refund the unavailable Product; or

  • cancel and refund the affected order.

No materially different replacement will be sent without the Customer’s agreement.

1.7 Prices

Prices are displayed in the currency selected on the website and include applicable VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.

Delivery costs and any other charges payable through RationBox will be displayed before the order is confirmed.

RationBox may modify its prices at any time. The price charged is the price displayed when the order is submitted.

In the event of a manifest pricing or technical error, RationBox may cancel the order and refund any payment already received.

1.8 Orders

To place an order, the Customer must:

  1. select the Products;

  2. review the shopping basket;

  3. provide accurate contact, billing and delivery information;

  4. select a payment and delivery method;

  5. accept these Terms and Conditions; and

  6. confirm the order with an obligation to pay.

The Customer can review and correct information before submitting the order.

An automated acknowledgement confirms receipt of the order but does not necessarily constitute final acceptance. The contract is concluded when RationBox sends an acceptance or dispatch confirmation.

RationBox may refuse or cancel an order for legitimate reasons, including:

  • suspected fraud;

  • unauthorised or unsuccessful payment;

  • incorrect customer information;

  • abnormal quantities;

  • Product unavailability;

  • a manifest pricing error;

  • delivery restrictions; or

  • previous unresolved payment disputes.

1.9 Payment

Available payment methods are displayed during checkout.

Payment is due when the order is placed unless another arrangement has been agreed in writing.

RationBox may delay dispatch until payment has been authorised and reasonable fraud-prevention checks have been completed.

Products remain the property of SAS RATIONBOX until full payment has been received.

1.10 Customer obligations

The Customer must provide complete and accurate information.

Additional delivery or return costs resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address may be charged to the Customer where legally permitted.

Customers are responsible for:

  • following all preparation and storage instructions;

  • checking ingredients and allergens;

  • inspecting Product packaging before use;

  • using Products only for their intended purpose; and

  • ensuring that Products are suitable for the intended users.

1.11 Legal guarantee of conformity

Consumers benefit from the mandatory legal guarantee of conformity provided by applicable law.

A Product must correspond to its description, be of the agreed quantity and quality, and be suitable for its normal intended purpose.

Where a Product is non-conforming, the Consumer may be entitled to replacement, a price reduction or termination of the contract and a refund, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

Because food Products generally cannot be repaired, replacement or refund may be the appropriate remedy.

The legal guarantee is separate from any commercial shelf-life statement.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

1.12 Product recalls

Customers must follow any recall, withdrawal or safety notice issued by RationBox, the manufacturer or a competent authority.

RationBox may use the contact information supplied with the order to communicate important safety information.

A recalled Product must not be consumed. Instructions concerning its return, disposal, replacement or refund will be provided in the recall notice.

1.13 Responsible use

Emergency food supplies are intended to support sensible preparedness planning.

RationBox does not guarantee that a particular Product or package will meet every person’s nutritional, medical or emergency requirements.

Nutritional and water requirements vary according to age, health, activity, environment and individual circumstances.

Customers remain responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of drinking water and seeking professional medical or nutritional advice where appropriate.

1.14 Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion would be unlawful.

RationBox is not responsible for losses caused by:

  • incorrect storage;

  • failure to follow preparation instructions;

  • consumption despite visibly damaged packaging;

  • failure to check ingredient or allergen information;

  • misuse or unauthorised modification of a Product;

  • inaccurate information supplied by the Customer; or

  • circumstances outside RationBox’s reasonable control.

This section does not limit mandatory consumer rights, product-liability rules or liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where such liability cannot legally be excluded.

1.15 Force majeure

RationBox is not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, fire, war, civil disorder, government restrictions, strikes, carrier disruption, customs interruption, epidemics, energy failures or major cyber incidents.

Mandatory rights concerning delayed delivery, cancellation and refunds remain unaffected.

1.16 Intellectual property

The RationBox.eu website and its content—including text, Product descriptions, photographs, graphics, logos, trademarks and website design—are protected by intellectual-property law.

Content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or commercially used without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

1.17 Complaints and consumer mediation

Complaints should first be submitted to:

Email: info@rationbox.eu
The complaint should include the Customer’s name, order number and a clear description of the issue.

After first submitting a written complaint to RationBox, a Consumer may refer an unresolved dispute to RationBox’s appointed consumer mediator:

1.18 Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.

This choice does not deprive a Consumer residing in another country of any mandatory protections available under the law of their country of habitual residence.

Consumers may bring proceedings before any court having jurisdiction under applicable consumer and private-international-law rules.

1.19 Changes

RationBox may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in the law, Products or business operations.

The version applicable to an order is the version accepted when that order was placed.
